Katie, a freelance video editor in desperate need of work, receives a high-paying offer from an anonymous employer to edit a mysterious and strange video. Being in a difficult financial situation and under the threat of eviction, Katie gladly agrees to this job. The video shows the torture and even the killing of people on camera – no doubt, it’s just a carefully staged fake. But when the first job leads to even more lucrative work and more frighteningly realistic crime films, Katie’s life begins to crumble. Strange figures in her apartment, terrible nightmares that keep her awake, and a mysterious illness that torments her cat. Only when Katie finally decides to quit her job does she find out how cruel her anonymous employer really is and what bloody measures she is willing to go to in order to break her contract.
